Nature: Trailer Fire

Location: 34807 Come About Circle Pot Nets Creekside, DE 19966

 

Early Sunday morning, November 30th, the Indian River (80), Lewes (82) and Millsboro (83) fire companies were alerted for a trailer fire on Come About Circle in the Pot Nets Creekside development off Long Neck Road.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad and the Sussex County Paramedics.  It was reported to be a manufactured home fire with the occupants attempting to put the fire out.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 and Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility, Engine 80 and Squad 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police. 

Emergency response crew assignments included an initial 360 exterior evaluation reporting approximately 70% structure involved with fire, utilities on the “Delta” side, active gas leak, one burn injury and verification that all occupants were out the residential structure.  Other tasks included activation of fire suppression lines, establish water supply, identified location of nearest hydrant, EMS to coordinate services with occupants, notification of utility service providers – Long Neck Water and Delaware Electric Cooperative as well as the American Red Cross.

The residential occupants were present at the time of the mishap and reported that the fire may have started with the heater and spread into a bedroom.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control and scene access in coordination with Pot Nets Security.

The Delaware State Fire Marshall is investigating.
