Nature: Gas Leak

Location: 29 White Pine Dr Pines At Long Neck, DE 19966

On Saturday evening, November 29^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a gas leak incident on White Pine Drive in the Pines of Long Neck development off John J. Williams Highway. It was reported to be an odor of gas outside the residence.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crews were assigned to coordinate an evaluation to identify the source of the smell, an exterior evaluation of the residences were coordinated and identified an underground tank as the possible source, notification of the utility service provider was coordinated as well as shutting off the tank.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic assistance for the duration of the incident.

All units were authorized to return to their respective quarters.
