Nature: MVC Involving Bicycle

Location: Friendship Rd and Samantha Dr Millsboro, DE 19966

On Wednesday afternoon, November 26^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company, Mid Sussex Rescue Squad, Sussex County Paramedics and the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit – Trooper 2 were alerted for a vehicle accident involving a bicyclist on Friendship Road.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Squad 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included patient stabilization and traffic control for the duration of the incident.  The Aviation Unit was cancelled.

It appears that a vehicle and a bicycle collided on Friendship Road causing injury to the bicyclist who was transported to nearby medical facilities.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control with the closure of Friendship Road for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
