Late Thursday evening, November 20th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an automatic fire alarm on the second floor of the multi-residential structure.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tower 80 from the Oak Orchard facility as well as Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility.  Additionally, the Delaware State Fire Police responded to assist.

Emergency response crew assignments included incident mitigation efforts, exterior evaluation of the facility before making access for an interior evaluation.  The rationale for the alarm sounding has been determined to be a culinary mishap at the facility complex.

All emergency fire response units were authorized to return and be available for other emergency incidents in the area.
