Nature: Smoke Investigation / Trailer Fire

Location: 34836 Breakers St Pots Nets Bayside, DE 19966

On Thursday morning, November 13^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company and Mid Sussex Rescue Squad were originally alerted for a smoke investigation incident which was amended to a structure (trailer) fire on Breakers Street in the Pot Nets Bayside development.  It was reported that the occupant identified an odor smoke in the residence, the occupant was wheel-chaired bound awaiting at front door and needed assistance getting out.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Pot Nets Security and Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crews assisted with accessing the home occupant and then conducted an exterior and interior evaluation of the residential structure. 

It appears that the residential heating system was recently activated causing a burning odor inside the residence.  The homeowner as apprised of the situation and encouraged to obtain HVAC contractor for additional evaluation.

The Delaware State Fire Police assisted at the incident location.

All emergency response units were authorized to return to their quarters.
