Nature: Electrical Hazard

On Wednesday, November 12^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an electrical hazard, possibly transformer fire with nearby grassy area being ignited on John J. Williams Highway between the Royal Farm and Nanticoke Indian Museum. 

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crews were assigned to evaluate and mitigate the concern, report utility identification numbers and photographs to Delaware Electric Cooperative via online reporting application, suppress the grass fire and traffic control for the duration of the incident.

It appears that an electrical issue created the grass fire and the utility service provider was so notified.

All units were authorized to clear the incident location.
