Nature: Medical Emergency – Unknown Problem Man Down

City: Oak Orchard Road and Chief Road – Millsboro

On Saturday evening, November 8^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a medical emergency – unknow problem man down in the area of Oak Orchard Road and Chief Road.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad, the Sussex County Paramedics and the Delaware State Police Ground Unit and Aviation Unit.  It was reported as someone laying in the roadway. 

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard Facility and Squad 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments were to search and evaluate the area because the person had walked away and it was advised he was last seen on Chief Road.  A person was found stumbling through a field but refused any medical attention or observation.

After consultation and refusal of services, he was left shuffling towards Oak Orchard Road.

All emergency response units were authorized to clear and return to their respective quarters.
