Nature: Automatic Fire Alarm – Residential

Location: 33396 Paddle Dr The Peninsula, DE 19966

On Saturday evening, October 25th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an automatic fire alarm on Paddle Drive in the Peninsula development off Bay Farm Road.  It was reported to be a smoke detector activation – zone 8 inside the residential structure.

Emergency response units from Indian River include Tower 80 and Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility.

Emergency response crews were notified while responding that the reporting person callback identified proper passcode wishing to cancel. 

It appears that the homeowner was attempting to cook when the mishap occurred.  All other responding apparatus was cancelled and the incident was identified as a culinary mishap.

The Delaware State Fire Police assisted where available.
