Nature: Appliance Fire

Location: 28375 Clark Av Riverdale Beach, DE 19966

On Monday, October 20^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an appliance fire on Clark Avenue in the Riverdale Park development off River Road.  It was reported to be a microwave on fire inside the residence.

Emergency response units from Indian River include Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crews were assignment to complete an exterior 360 of the structure, an interior evaluation, remove the impacted appliance and assist with positive pressure ventilation.

It appears that the homeowner was attempting to cook dinner in the microwave when the mishap occurred.  All other responding apparatus was cancelled and the incident was identified as a culinary mishap.

The Delaware State Fire Police assisted where available.
