Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: John J Williams Hwy and Heritage Lane Millsboro, DE 19966

On Saturday evening, October 11^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway between Heritage Lane and Eagle Lane. Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad, the Millsboro EMS, and the Sussex County Paramedics as well as the Delaware State Fire Police. It was reported to be a three vehicle collision. 

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 and Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Squad 80 from the Long Neck facility. 

Emergency response crew assignments included patient stabilization, vehicle stabilization, roadway closure, fluid and debris recovery, and overall incident mitigation activities.

It appears that a blue Chevrolet Trax collided with a Honda Pilot SUV and BMW X3 SUV while traveling on John J. Williams Highway causing injury and significant damage to all vehicles.  The EMS providers transported three people to nearby hospital for additional evaluation.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated the complete closure of John J. Williams Highway for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
