Nature: Trailer Fire - Assist Lewes - Downgraded to Control Burn

Location: Beaver Dam Rd and Kendale Rd Lewes, DE 19958

 

On Monday afternoon, October 6th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company alerted to assist the Lewes Fire Department with a trailer fire on Beaver Dam Road and Kendale Road.  It was reported to be white smoke coming from an abandon trailer or behind it on Beaver Dam Road west of Kendale Road. 

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response units from the Lewes Fire Department immediately recognized this incident as an earlier dispatched incident and responded to the location before cancelling all emergency response apparatus.

This was the location of a controlled burn which traveling reported initial as a brush fire and secondly as a trailer fire.  The reporting persons did not stay in the area.

All emergency response units were authorized to cancel and return to the respective stations.
