Nature: Traffic Collision

On Sunday evening, October 5^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Long Neck near the Eastgate Presbyterian Church.  It was reported to be a vehicle in one of the fields next to the church before the Rehoboth Shores development.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility, Tanker 80 was returning from an earlier standby assignment in Lewes, and Squad 80 responded from the Long Neck facility.  Additional emergency response units included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad and the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments were to locate the specific incident location.  It was finally determined to be a vehicle pulled off Long Neck Road onto a dirt work in the field with its emergency flashers on.

The incident was identified as “good intent” and all emergency response apparatus was authorized to clear and return back to their respective quarters.
