Nature: Carbon Monoxide Detector

Location: 33803 Sea Otter Way Pelican Point, DE 19966

 

On Friday morning, October 3rd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a carbon monoxide detector activation on Sea Otter Way in the Pelican Point development off Indian Mission Road.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad and the Sussex County Paramedics.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police, the Sussex County Paramedics and the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad.

Emergency response crew assignments included an exterior evaluation before commencing with the interior evaluation of the residential structure, residential occupant evaluation by EMS personnel and detector monitoring throughout the residential structure.

It was identified that the detector monitoring was not sufficient to justify any corrective action and EMS evaluation yielded not additional results.

All emergency response units were authorized to return to their respective quarters when complete with their respective assignments.
