Nature:  Automatic Fire Alarm – Commercial Structure

Early Friday morning, October 3rd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an automatic fire alarm sounding in a commercial structure on Anna’s Way in the Pot Nets Bayside development off Long Neck Road.  It was reported to be an automatic fire alarm going off in zone 993 of the commercial structure.

Emergency response units from Indian River include Tower 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crews initiated and exterior evaluation of the commercial structure and then commenced with an interior evaluation after discussing with the Pot Nets Security personnel. 

It was identified that alarms were sounding throughout the commercial structure. The crews determined a malfunctioning issue with the sprinkler system and notified personnel accordingly.

All emergency response units were authorized to return.
