On Tuesday, September 23rd, the Delaware State Fire Police Association held their Annual Delaware State Fire Police Association Dinner Meeting at the 30th Annual Conference of the Delaware Volunteer Firefighter’s Association in Dewey Beach. During this event various members of Delaware’s fire police associations were recognized.
The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company is pleased to announce that Eric Gaberlein was recognized as the 2025 New Castle County - Delaware State Fire Policemen. The nomination was for his years of service, advocacy in and for the Delaware State Fire Police, and years of service with the Delaware Fire Services.
This nominee has served in both New Castle County (Cranston Heights) as well as in Sussex County (Indian River) for the past few years. This volunteer has continually achieved and accomplished many endeavors and devoted countless hours serving the citizenry within the State of Delaware.
Eric has devoted many years of service to the fire service and the fire police associations and was bestowed this honor upon him by Colonel William Crotty of the Delaware State Police.
Therefore, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company wishes to acknowledge and congratulate Eric Gaberlein on his recent recognition as the New Castle County - Delaware Fire Policeman of the Year for 2025.
