Nature: Automatic Fire Alarm

Location: 33491 Marina Bay Circle, The Peninsula, DE 19966

On Sunday morning, September 7th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an automatic fire alarm sounding in a residential structure on Marina Bay Circle in the Peninsula development off Bay Farm Road.  It was reported to be a general fire alarm going off.

Emergency response units from Indian River include Tower 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crews were notified while responding that the alarm was a general fire alarm with no additional information.

All emergency response units completed an exterior 360 evaluation and with assistance from a neighbor was able to can access to the residential structure.  The alarm system was audible upon access.  After evaluation, it was identified to be a water leak inside causing the alarm activation. The alarm system was silenced and the proper notification of the issues within the residential structure were completed.  The homeowner must coordinate the necessary repairs.

All emergency response units were authorized to return to their respective quarters.
