On Friday morning, September 5^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a fire alarm sounding in a commercial structure at Cedar Tree Medical Center off Long Neck Road.  It was identified as a fire alarm activation via the facility’s interior key pad.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tower 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included an exterior evaluation of the facility as well as discussion with the interior facility occupants.

It was identified that the occupants depressed an incorrect button on the keypad upon arrival.  All emergency response units were authorized to return to their respective stations.
