Nature: Vehicle Accident

Address: Mount Joy Rd and Townsend Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

On Thursday, September 4^th, the Indian River (80) and Millsboro (83) volunteer fire companies were alerted for a vehicle accident on Mount Joy Road near Townsend Road.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad.  The motor vehicle accident was reported and desired to be checked out associated with injuries from broken glass.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Squad 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included patient stabilization where needed, vehicle stabilization, traffic control and incident mitigation efforts.  Emergency response units were limited to what was already on scene with cancellation of all other responding units.

It appears that a gray Nissan car was traveling on Mount Joy Road when a tree branch fell and struck the windshield on the driver’s side of the vehicle.

The Delaware State Fire Police assisted with traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
