Nature: Vehicle Stuck in High Water

Location: Long Neck Rd and Pine Cone Dr Millsboro, DE 19966

On Thursday evening, August 21^st, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle stuck in high water in the area of Pine Cone Drive off Long Neck Road.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 and Utility 80-14 from the Oak Orchard facility and Brush 80 from the Long Neck Road facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.  The Delaware State Police were also making a response for this incident.

Emergency response crews coordinated a staging area in the are of Fairfield awaiting for the arrival of the utility vehicle from the Oak Orchard area to traverse the tidal water.  Manpower donned their Sterns submersible suits should the need to enter water be prevalent. 

Emergency response units traversed Long Neck Road from the Fairfield development to the Massey’s Landing Public Boat Ramp and into the nearby developments and could not locate any vehicle stranded or not traversing (moving) in the tidal water.

The incident was marked as unfounded.
