Nature: Traffic Collision

On Thursday afternoon, August 21^st, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company and Mid Sussex Rescue Squad were alerted for a vehicle accident on the John J. Williams Highway in the vicinity of Autumn Road.  It was reported to be two vehicle and unknown status of injuries.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Rescue 80 as well as Chief 80-15 from the Long Neck area.  The Delaware State Fire Police also responded to the incident location.

Emergency response crew assignments include patient stabilization if needed, vehicle stabilization, fluid and debris recovery, traffic control, and overall incident mitigation efforts.

It appears that a blue Jeep Patriot and a blue Toyota RAV4 collided at the intersection causing significant damage and rendering both vehicles inoperable.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control with the closure of specific traffic patterns for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
