Nature: MVC – Ejection Involving Vehicle & Golf Cart                         

Location: Long Neck Rd and Kathys Way Millsboro, DE 19966

On Wednesday evening, August 13^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident with ejection involving a golf cart on Long Neck Road and Radie Kay Lane / Kathys Way.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad, Lewes EMS, and the Sussex County Paramedics. It was reported to be vehicle versus golf cart with two occupant ejections.  Aviation units were unavailable due to weather conditions.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Incident Command 80, Tanker 80, Tower 80, and Traffic Control 80 from the Oak Orchard facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included patient stabilization, vehicle stabilization, traffic control, fluid and debris recovery and overall incident mitigation.

It appears that a blue Chevrolet Impala and a green EZ-GO golf cart collided on Long Neck Road near Radie Kay Lane causing personal occupant injury for the golf cart passengers and damage to both vehicles.  All golf cart occupants were transported to nearby medical facilities.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
