Nature: Chicken House Fire

Location: 34564 Pear Tree Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

On Monday, August 11th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted to provide a standby / cover up assignment for the Millsboro (83) Fire Company that was alerted to assist the Gumboro (79) Fire Company with a chicken house fire.

A standby cover up assignment involves ensuring that our mutual aid partners have adequate fire protection services for their fire district while that entity actively mitigates another emergency incident.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 responding to the Millsboro Main Station for this cover up assignment.

This cover up assignment did assist and mitigate other emergency incidents in the Millsboro Fire District.
