Nature: Automatic Fire Alarms Sounding – Multi Residential Structure

Location: 32983 Shoppes At Long Neck Blvd Millsboro, DE 19966

On Monday, July 28th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an automatic fire alarm with audible alarms around the multi-residential structure with an additional concern with a water flow indication. 

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tower 80 from the Oak Orchard facility as well as Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility.  Additionally, the Delaware State Fire Police responded to assist with the incident.

Emergency response crew assignments included incident mitigation efforts, notification of the complex maintenance personnel, exterior evaluation of the facility before making access for an interior evaluation. 

The rationale for the alarm sounding was associated with the water flow alarm.  The facility maintenance personnel and complex management have been notified of the operational concerns with the building system and to perform mitigation repairs.

All emergency fire response units were authorized to return and respond to additional emergency incidents in the area.
