Nature: Outside Fire

Location: 35441 Joann Dr Mariners Cove, DE 19966

On Thursday evening, July 24^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an outside fire on Joann Drive in the Mariner’s Cove development.  It was reported to be a neighbor burning bushes.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Brush 80 from the Long Neck facility and Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included incident evaluation, discussion with the relevant parties, request for a bilingual police officer to response to the incident, and suppression or saturation of affected area.

It appears that the bushes were improperly being burnt at or near the incident location.  Tanker 80 was authorized to return to their respective quarters which Brush 80 awaited arrival requested authorities.

Efforts to communicate the proper burning procedures were attempted.
