Illustrated herewith is an incident synopsis of the emergency alerts for Thursday, June 26^th.

1. Nature:  Electrical Hazard – Indian Mission Road in the area of the produce place.  It was reported as a dump truck pulled off the roadway into some overhead power lines pulling some down.  The Delaware Electric Cooperative was notified and had a crew responding.

When a vehicle makes contact with overhead power lines, the primary rule is to stay inside the vehicle unless there is an immediate threat of fire or explosion. If you must exit, jump out with feet together, landing on both feet, and shuffle away from the vehicle. Do not touch the vehicle and the ground at the same time. Always call 911 and warn others to stay away.

2. Nature: Automatic Crash Notification – Bishop Street in the Enchanted Acres development off of Long Neck Road.  Emergency response units evaluated for a vehicle accident but was able to identify a dropped cellular phone in the area.  All emergency response units were cancelled and authorized to return to their quarters.

Our hope is to increase awareness within our immediate fire district to mitigate the quantity of these unwanted / unfounded automatic crash notification incidents.
