Nature: Vehicle Accident Serious

Location: Oak Orchard Rd & Driftwood Village, Millsboro, DE 19966

On Saturday afternoon, June 27th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Oak Orchard Road in the vicinity of Driftwood Village. It was reported to be a car versus a bicyclist.

Emergency response units from Indian River include Rescue 80 and Engine #80-5 from the Oak Orchard facility.

Emergency response unit assignments included assistance with patient stabilization and assessment, scene mitigation and traffic control. It appears that a Volkswagen sedan was traveling north on Oak Orchard Road and collided with a bicyclist. The bicyclist was transported to nearby medical facilities for additional observation.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
