Nature: Structure Fire

Location: 35227 6Th St Bay City, DE 19966

On Wednesday, March 6^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a residential structure fire on 6^th Street in the Bay City development off Long Neck Road. It was reported to be a strong burning odor but no fire or smoke visible at the reporting time.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80, Rescue 80 and Utility 80-11 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engines #80-1 and #80-3 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police. An additional engine response from the Lewes (82) fire department as well.

Emergency response crew assignments included a complete 360? evaluation with nothing evident from the exterior of the residential structure, an additional evaluation of the crawl space was coordinated.

It appears that issue was associated with a culinary mishap.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.
