Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: 32415 Long Neck Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

On Tuesday morning, March 5^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Long Neck Road in the vicinity of Short’s Marine.  It was reported to be a two vehicle collision possibly head-on.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad and the Sussex County Paramedics.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police. 

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, patient stabilization where needed, fluid and debris recovery, closure of all traffic patterns on this segment of Long Neck Road, assistance with patient removal from vehicle and overall incident mitigation.

It appears that a white Chevrolet Equinox and black Hyundai Elantra collided on Long Neck Road in the vicinity of Shorts Marine. There were two people transported to nearby medical facilities for observation. 

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
