On Wednesday afternoon, February 7th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an automatic fire alarm sounding on Circle Road in the Winding Creek development.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tower 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility.

While responding to this emergency incident, Indian River was advised of an additional automatic fire alarm at a commercial structure in the Peninsula development off Bay Farm Road.

Emergency response apparatus was redirected with Tower 80 responding to the Peninsula location and Engine #80-3 responded to the Winding Creek location.  Engine #80-1 then responded to the Peninsula location.

Emergency response crews performed evaluations at both locations and identified that the Winding Creek location was a culinary mishap and the Peninsula location was a broken pull station impacted by a construction worker.

All units were authorized to clear and return to their respective quarters.
