Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: John J Williams Hwy and Sherwood Forest Sherwood Forest North, DE 19966

On Tuesday morning, February 6^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway near the entrance to Sherwood Forest.  It was reported to be a two vehicle rear end type collision with the possibility of two adults and two children desirous to be evaluated.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard area, Engine #80-1 and Command 80 from the Long Neck area as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad.

Emergency response crew assignments included traffic control, fluid and debris recovery, vehicle stabilization where needed, assistance with patient stabilization, and overall incident mitigation efforts. 

It appears that a white Volkswagen EOS struck the rear of a gray Dodge Durango causing minor damage to both vehicles.  After evaluation all persons declined any additional medical observations.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
