Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: John J Williams Hwy and Bay Farm Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

On Saturday morning, January 27th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway at Bay Farm Road. It was reported to be a two vehicle collision with minor injuries. 

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police. Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, assistance with patient stabilization if needed, fluid and debris recovery, disconnect the battery terminals for one of the vehicles, traffic control and incident mitigation efforts.

It appears that a white Mercedes Benz SUV and a white Chevrolet Utility Van collided at the intersection rending both vehicles inoperable.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
