Nature: Special Event – Fireworks Standby

On Sunday, September 3rd, the Indian River (80), Dagsboro (73), Selbyville (88) and Millsboro (83) volunteer fire companies provided a designated standby crew for firework displays at Paradise Grill in Pot Nets Bayside.  These assignments included fully staffed apparatus from Indian River (80) and Millsboro (83) a brush truck and marine unit from Dagsboro (73), and a brush truck from Selbyville (88). 

The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company utilized this opportunity to promote its Community Risk Reduction Initiative to highlight Golf Cart Safety, Fire Safety, Fire Prevention, as well as various Recruitment Initiatives. The brush truck crews did have to extinguish some small beach grass fires as a result of the blowing embers.
