On Tuesday afternoon, August 15th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted an alarm sounding incident on 18th Blvd in the Peninsula development off Bay Farm Road.  It was reported to be an alarm sounding at three-story multi-residential structure.  It was identified to be an alarm in the garage area.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tower 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engines #80-1 and #80-3 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments an evaluation of the structure to determine the source and cause of the incident, silence the alarm sounding, notify the alarm servicing company, coordinate with the facility management and security, etc.  Engine #80-1 was standby at the closest hydrant.

It was determined to be an alarm system issue because the respective pull station was impacted by water and not securely closing after the facility was pressure washed.  The HOA representative, and the facility management and security personnel were advised to coordinate repairs with the alarm servicing entity.

The Delaware State Fire Police responded and assisted with traffic.

All apparatus was cleared to return to their respective stations.
