Nature: Vehicle Accident w/Medics

Location: Mimosa Cove and Regatta Cove Pot Nets Lakeside, DE 19966

On Sunday morning, July 30^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Mimosa Cove and Regatta Cove in the Pot Nets Lakeside development off Long Neck Road.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad and the Sussex County Paramedics.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, traffic control, assistance with patient stabilization, assistance with canine occupation, fluid and debris recovery where needed and incident mitigation efforts.

It appears that a black Ford F150 pick up was traveling inside the Pot Nets Lakeside development when the driver become distracted by a small canine within the vehicle and drifted off the roadway striking the bridge. One occupant was transported to nearby medical facilities for additional observations.

The Delaware State Fire Police assisted with traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigation.
