...COASTAL FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM THIS EVENING - 06/03/23 TO 2 AM EDT SUNDAY.  - 06/04/2023..

* WHAT...One to two feet of inundation above ground level expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways.

* WHERE...In Delaware, Inland Sussex. 

* WHEN...From 6 PM this evening (06/03/2023) to 2 AM EDT Sunday (06/04/2023).

* IMPACTS...At this level, widespread roadway flooding occurs in coastal and bayside communities and along inland tidal waterways. Many roads become impassable. Some damage to vulnerable structures may begin to occur.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property. If travel is required, do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth.

Nature: Coastal Flood Warning

Location: Inland Sussex County – Oak Orchard – Long Neck

On Saturday evening June 3rd and into Sunday morning June 4th,  Inland Sussex County area has been placed upon a coast flood warning which may impact the Oak Orchard, Riverdale, Long Neck and surrounding areas for minor flooding conditions impacting the roadway conditions.

Illustrated herewith are some photographs of the conditions in Riverdale as the recent of tidal conditions, full moon, and wind conditions pushing water inland.

Use caution while navigating roadways near the inland bays and related waterway.  The Delaware Department of Transportation has been notified to deploy signage identifying water on roadway conditions within the impacted communities.
