Nature: Automatic Crash Notification

Location: Long Neck Rd and Ridgewood Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

On Wednesday, April 19^th the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was notified of a vehicle accident on Long Neck Road in the vicinity of Ridgewood Road.  This was the result of an automatic crash notification process. Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included traffic control, vehicle stabilization, fluid and debris recovery, assistance with patient stabilization, and overall incident mitigation efforts.

It appears that a maroon Hyundai sedan and white Dodge pick up collided causing front end damage to both vehicles rendering the Hyundai inoperable. 

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.  Traffic patterns along Long Neck Road were curtailed one lane with alternating traffic. 

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
