Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: Banks Road & Long Neck Road

On Monday, March 13^th, as the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway and an additional accident was identified at the intersection of Long Neck Road and Banks Road.  It also was a two vehicle collision. 

Emergency response units from Indian River included Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.  Rescue 80 responded to the second incident after clearing from the earlier incident.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, assistance with patient stabilization, traffic control, fluid and debris recovery, notification of supervisory personnel, and incident mitigation.

It appears that the Nissan Altima sedan and Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV collided in the intersection rendering one vehicle inoperable.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
