Nature: Vehicle Fire

Location: ITAO Cannon Road between Friendship Road and Pelican Pointe

Address:  24969 Cannon Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

On Friday, March 3^rd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle fire on Cannon Road between Friendship Road and Pelican Pointe.  It was reported to be vehicle fire with smoke coming from under the dashboard.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.  Incident information was updated upon arrival of the Delaware State Police that there was not any active fire.

Emergency response crew assignments included incident mitigation, identify and determine the nature and source of the incident, and traffic control.

It appears that a Jeep and utility trailer were traveling on Cannon Road when smoke started emitting from under the dashboard.  The Jeep pulled to the shoulder of the road and called for emergency assistance.

The Delaware State Fire Police assisted with traffic control for the duration of the incident.

All units were authorized to return to their respective quarters.
