Nature: Vehicle Accident w/Medics

Location: ITAO  27614 Sandpebble Dr N Driftwood Village, DE 19966

On Wednesday, March 1^st, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident in the Driftwood Village development off Oak Orchard Road.  It was reported to be a two vehicle collision with one vehicle overturned.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad, the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit – Trooper #2, and the Sussex County Paramedics.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 and Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and the Brush 80-0 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police. 

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, patient stabilization if needed, traffic control, fluid and debris recovery, and overall incident mitigation.

It appears that a Nissan Sentra sedan and full-sized utility van collided in the Driftwood Village development off Oak Orchard Road.  The utility van overturned.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
