Nature: Structure Fire

Location: 10 Lands End Dr., Rehoboth Beach Yacht & Country Club, DE 19971

On Monday, February 27th, the Indian River (80) and Lewes (82) fire departments were alerted to assist Rehoboth Beach (86) with a residential structure fire on 10 Lands End Drive in the Rehoboth Beach Yacht & Country Club. 

Emergency response units from Indian River included Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included apparatus staging and having firefighter personnel reporting to the manpower pool for delegation of assignments.  Engine #80-3 was redirected to Rehoboth Beach’s Station #2 for a cover up assignment while crews continued to work at the residential location.

The Delaware State Fire Police from all three fire companies performed traffic control and other assigned duties.

The Delaware State Fire Marshall Office is investigating.

Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company was assisted by Lewes and Indian River responded to a residential structure fire at 10 Lands End in Rehoboth Beach Yacht & Country Club on Monday February 27th at 12:30 pm. Units arrived to find a fire on the roof and possibly in the attic area of the residential structure. After gaining access to the structure, a fire was discovered in the attic area as a result of a  possible failure of the Solar Panels on the rear portion of the roof. Fire was burning under the panels in the tree debris which had gathered. Crews did a quick knockdown and limited damage to the attic and some water damage to the second floor of the residence. Unit were on scene for approx. 90 minutes.
