Nature: Structure Fire

Location: HYDRANT ON SIDE OF THE HOUSE BEFORE DEAD END

Address:  32610 Long Spoon Way Baywood, DE 19966

Early Wednesday morning, February 8^th, the Indian River (80), Lewes (82), Millsboro (83) and Rehoboth Beach (86) fire departments were alerted for a residential structure fire on Long Spoon Way in Baywood Greens.  It was reported to have a smoke condition in the kitchen.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 and Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.  Mutual aid assistance was alerted from neighboring companies as part of the box alarm and the fact that Tower 80 was temporarily out-of-service for necessary service and repairs.

Emergency response assignments included evaluation and investigation for the source because a light smoke condition was present inside the kitchen area of the structure.  Initial crews determined no active fire just the smoke condition and thermal imaging cameras were utilized to assist in detecting a heat source.  Natural ventilation was utilized to eradicate the smoke condition.

The Delaware State Fire Police assisted at the incident location.
