Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: John J Williams Hwy and Long Neck Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

On Sunday afternoon, February 5th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway and Long Neck Road.  It was reported to be a two vehicle incident with the possibility of one patient desirous to be evaluated by EMS personnel.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility, Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad for EMS services.

Emergency response crew assignments included traffic control, vehicle stabilization, patient stabilization where needed, fluid and debris recovery, as well as incident mitigation.  

It appears that both vehicles collided in the intersection causing traffic flow disruption for most of the intersection for the duration of the incident.  Both vehicles sustained minor damage.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
