Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: 31507 Oak Orchard Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

On Saturday, January 14^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident in the vicinity of the Trading Post Shopping Center near the intersection of Oak Orchard Road and John J. Williams Highway.  It was reported to be a two vehicle collision with the possibility on one patient.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Police.  Additional emergency response alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization where needed, patient stabilization if needed, traffic control, fluid and debris recovery as well as incident mitigation efforts.

It appears that a GMC Utility van and an Infinity SUV collided at or near the entrance of the Trading Post Shopping Center causing damage to both vehicles and asking for an EMS evaluation.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
