Nature: Washdown (Fuel Spill)

On Wednesday, January 11^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a washdown assignment resulting from a property damage vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway in the Plaza Drive intersection.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included fluid and debris recovery as well as the traffic control for the duration of the incident.

It appears that a chain reaction type collision was result of the Mitsubishi sedan struck the rear of a Jeep Wrangler that struck the rear another SUV type vehicle.  All vehicles suffered damage with the Mitsubishi and Jeep being rendered inoperable.  There were not any occupant injuries.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
