Nature: Trash Fire

Location: 35244 6Th St Bay City, DE 19966

On Tuesday, January 10^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a trash fire incident on 6^th Street in the Bay City development off Long Neck Road.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Brush 80-0 and Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility and Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included fire suppression, apprising the property occupants of the correct burn procedures, and notification of the appropriate authorities.

It appears that the property occupants were illegally burning construction materials in a residential setting with potential exposure concerns. 

The Delaware Department of Natural Resources & Environmental Control was notified and requested for an incident response.
