Nature: Structure Fire

Location: 33462 Buttercup St., Angola Beach, DE 19958

 

On Sunday morning, January 8th, the Indian River (80) and Lewes (82) fire companies were alerted to assist Rehoboth Beach (86) with a working residential structure fire on Buttercup Street in the Angola Beach & Estates development.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included manpower to the manpower pool for fire suppression activities, establish a water supply, initiate a water shuttle, and assist with other tasks as needed.

The Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a structure fire on Buttercup Street in the Angola Beach & Estates development off Angola Road.  Command 86 responded and found heavy fire and smoke showing requesting the assistance of neighboring fire departments.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control and scene access for responding apparatus.

The Delaware State Fire Marshall Office is investigating.

The American Red Cross was contacted to assist the displaced residential occupants.
