Nature: Alarms - Residential (Single) - Smoke detector

On Thursday morning, December 29^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an automatic fire alarm sounding at a single family residential structure on Timbercreek Lane in the Long Neck Shores development.  It was reported to be a single family residential structure with a second floor smoke detector activation.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crews found nothing evident upon arrival, performed a complete exterior evaluation, and worked with neighbors to gain access to the residential structure after contacting the homeowner.  It appears to be a malfunctioning alarm.

All apparatus was authorized to return to their stations.
