Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: Banks Rd and Canal Dr Millsboro, DE 19966

On Monday morning, November 28^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Banks Road in the vicinity of Canal Drive.  It was reported to be a two vehicle collision.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Chief 80-15 and Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility, Engines #80-1 and #80-3 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included assistance with patient stabilization where needed, vehicle stabilization where needed, fluid and debris recovery as well as the traffic control for the duration of the incident.  Engine #80-3 was cancelled while responding to the incident location.

It appears that both vehicles were traveling on Banks Road when a silver Nissan Altima was struck in the rear by a black KIA Optima causing damage to both vehicles and injury to the driver of the Nissan.  The Mid Sussex Rescue Squad provided EMS services to the driver of the Nissan.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
