Nature: Fire Police

On Saturday, November 26^th, the Delaware State Fire Police assigned to the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company were alerted to assist the Delaware State Police with traffic control on John J. Williams Highway at Gull Point Road.

The emergency response units for Indian River included the Delaware State Fire Police Units and Utility 80-11 from the Oak Orchard facility.

It appears that a grey Chevrolet Equinox travelling westbound did not successfully navigate the turn on John J. Williams Highway at Gull Point Road and struck roadside signage which become dislodged under the vehicle.  The vehicle then became disabled in the roadway causing a traffic hazard.

The Delaware State Fire Police units coordinated traffic control with limited lane passage for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
