On Monday evening, November 21st, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted to assist with a medical emergency and establish a landing zoning in the vicinity of Long Neck Shores.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police, Sussex County Paramedics and the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad.

Emergency response crew assignments included the establishment of a landing zoning in the vicinity of the Nanticoke Indian Museum off Oak Orchard Road.  The landing zone was relocated to the Mary Mother of Peace Church and assist with transporting the patient from the ambulance to the aviation unit.

The Delaware State Fire Police assisted with traffic control for the duration of the incident.
